Lech Lecha!

(Last post of the day, I promise!)

Lech Lecha!:  "Get Up and Go!" (Hebrew)
This was the command that God gave to Abram in Genesis 12

However, for this particular morning, I used it as a fun motivation to actually get up out of bed, eat breakfast in my room, get dressed, study, relax, eat lunch, and then go to class and commence the taking of my first Old Testament Exam this afternoon...

Surprisingly, the phrase really kept me active and in relatively good spirits...
And I think I did fairly well on my exam too...

My only frustration is that when the time was up, I had to stop 1/2-way through my last of 4 essays because I was just like..."Uuuummmm...What in the world should I say???" when I first read the prompt... :-/

Thankfully, I think I nailed my other three essays pretty well and with the fact that I had to label 2 Maps; answer about 20 Questions; write down 2 verses from memory; and compose 4 essays in less than 2 hours, I'm very proud of said accomplishment... ;)

For all of the people who are saying"Wow Courtney...That's like nothing", remember, this is the first time I've had to do this before...Cut me a little slack! ;)

Oh, really funny side-note...
Remember those dramatized readings Brittany and I did?
Well, there was a question or two that actually referred to those chapters and we're pretty sure we got them right!
How awesome is that!?!
^_^

As far as a guesstimate for my grade, I think I'll probably get anywhere from a C+ to a B+...
Each essay is worth 5 points so I don't really what will be the outcome...
But I will definitely let you all know once I find out :)

I think I'll actually end up posting my grades for all my available classes at the end of each month...
Maybe I'll even make a specific page just for my grades!
(...Ooooohhhhh...Shnazziness...)
;)

So yeah, I think that's pretty much it... :)
Thanks for all your prayers!

Oh, sorry! I almost forgot!
There was actually a pretty funny story that went along with my day:

I got back to my room tonight after Geography and I looked in the mirror and started laughing...
This was my outfit:

So, at first glance, this might seem pretty odd that I would laugh at what I'm wearing...
I actually look rather nice if I do say so myself (which I obviously did)... ;)

No, it's not what I'm wearing that's so funny...It's what I'm wearing that's so funny...
(Yes, I did mean to say that...)

First, you'll note the colors I am wearing...
(They're blue & white for those of you who are listening to someone read this post out-loud to you while you are otherwise occupied)

Next you should realize that I scrounged through my closet and grabbed the first few items of clothing that went together as I tried to wake up and get ready for the day...
(Basically, imagine me sleepwalking as I subconsciously go over facts about Genesis in my head and try to wake up)

Then you should also note that I was taking my Old Testament Exam today...
(I bet you didn't know that huh?)

And finally, you should think like I do and fuse those three notations together...
(I know it's scary to think like I do, but please, just humor me for a moment...I need a bit of amusement)

Anyways, if you accurately assessed this situation the way I did, you will realize my amusement tonight as I finally saw my reflection...

I am wearing blue and white.
I was still sleep-walking as I was picking out my clothes.
I had also been subconsciously memorizing facts about the book of Genesis.
I took my OT Exam today.
My exam was all about the Israelites.
This is the flag of Israel:

This was what I was wearing:
Notice anything significantly similar? ;)

Yep, that's just how my mind works...I hope you enjoyed that short glimpse into the way my thought processes run...
And now I shall go and finish watching the "new" Sherlock Holmes movie for my first time...Yay!

Shalom! :)

  1. Wow - you really internalized those facts eh? Your whole mind is thinking in blue and white now ;-) And the new Sherlock Holmes movie is awesome (for the most part).

  2. Haha no kidding!
It was pretty awesome to finally relax and really enjoy it...

    And no kidding!
    I loved it!
My favorite part(s) would have to be where he would analyze his moves in slow-motion and then do it...and at the end where he explains how he figured everything out... :)

I guessed a lot of the facts correctly which was pretty awesome :)
I owe it all to my extensive reading of Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, and some of the real Sherlock Holmes... ;)
