101 Hours & Nothing New

Hey Everyone,

Okay, so, I'm back and resting at Providence and, unfortunately, the doctors found nothing wrong with me at all from any their testing, but they all agree that there is Something wrong...
And so, I am still in pain like I was before...
>.<

Just for fun, here is a basic overview of what happened this week:

Pain Started:
Tuesday, November 1st

Responses to Pain:
-Spazzing at the sudden pain; breathing slowly; then stretching out my right side as best as possible
-Asking friends and mentors for advice and prayer
-Talking to my parents
-Going to Fair Oaks Urgent Care Unit on Thursday, November 3rd
-Talking with my Mom and then Doctor Templer on Friday and being encouraged to go to the ER as soon as possible...
-My RD, Courtney W,  and I arrive at Huntington ER at around 1:20pm

Days Spent at Huntington:
1:20pm on Friday, November 4th, until 6:20pm on Monday, November 7th

Total Time: 101 hours (No Joke)
Procedures Taken: Multiple and regular tests; IV; Morphine; 2 CT scans; a HIDA scan; an ultrasound; and several physicals (Where they pressed really hard on my tummy and abdomen where it hurt and also listened to my breathing...Fun stuff)
Results: Nothing...Zilch...Nada... (*#!$&%*)
Prescription: Extra Strength Tylenol and Rest and Slow breathing when the pain reoccurs

Persisting Symptoms:
-Elongated dull or quick sharp pains on my right side...I can go from completely normal to a 7.5 out of a 1-10 pain level in a matter of seconds...
-Sometimes my lower, inner corners of my rib-cage will be sore to the touch and hurt when I laugh or breathe in too deeply...

-Depending on what I eat or how I eat, the pain will persist or come back a few minutes after I have something solid...So like, it hurts to digest most foods... :-/
-Inside my elbows (my veins) are still giving me bursts of pain if I stretch or bend them too much or in random ways...I'm assuming that's from all the blood-work and the IV... :(
-Pretty bad nausea coupled with an enhanced sense of smell... >.<
-Sudden tiredness and migraines located around my forehead...

Funny Aside: My blog-views skyrocketed this weekend... LoL ;) I had more page-views with my update post than any other post by about 50 views... And my monthly views are already at about 2/3 what they were all of last month and at least 31 more than all the months before...This is what you keep track of, besides test results, when you're bored and in the hospital... ;)

My HUGE Blessing From God:

My friend, Chelsea P, who stayed with me at the hospital from Saturday afternoon until I left last night (with a few breaks in-between); who comforted me when I was in pain, emotionally and physically; who laughed and joked and just talked with me when we were bored; who walked to Rite Aid last night when I was hurting again to get me my medicine; and who also surprised me with an epic container of applesauce...out of which I have been happily eating with a plastic spoon when my tummy asks for it...(Applesauce really makes my life seem livable...Most of the time...Haha)  ...Oh, and seeing as our friend and her roommate, Brittany S, is out for the week, she also let me stay in her room with her last night/today...I have been beyond blessed by such an awesome, and definitely life-long, friend... <3

THANK YOU CHELSEA! YOU ARE SO AMAZING!!!
*Hugs*

Okay, so basically, the nurse told me that if I'm still in this much or worse pain by next week or later, they want me to go back into the ER and/or schedule a visit with a primary care doctor...

There's also a possibility of them requesting to perform a colonoscopy...Fun fun...
So we'll see what happens...
:/

I'm trying not to be bitter, and/or stressed, and/or doubtful about what God's reasons were for everything that happened this week...

He has written my life's story with all its good, bad, ugly, and wonderful features...
All that I have been called to do is trust Him and follow the path that He has landscaped perfectly for my life from before the world was created...
I think that's a pretty safe and secure path to follow even when I don't know why it's swerving unexpectedly...Don't you think?

Thank you so much for all of your prayers!

Right now I'm resting up trying to get my health and energy back and I absolutely cannot wait to spend the next few days with my parents when they finally get here tomorrow!
I can't believe I haven't seen them for almost 4 months!

Praying that I have the energy and health to do all the things we have planned!
:)

Filled with thankfulness and blessings while resting in a comfy bed
(But not as comfy as the one at the hospital) and in the care of Providence (Literally and school-wise) ;)

  1. Colonoscopy isn't too bad; they put you to sleep. The worst part (for me at least) is that you can't eat for twelve hours beforehand. I'm praying for you, and I know that you'll have a great time with your parents! :-)

  3. Well, sadly, after my visit, I've gotten used to not eating for 6 or more hours straight...
    >.<

I love you Chels! And I'm very glad you're around too! You're like an epic big sister ;)
